Why choose Nutrimuscle potassium citrate?

Composed of potassium citrate, Nutrimuscle potassium citrate has been developed to meet the specific needs of athletes in terms of strength and endurance.

Produced by the Austrian group Jungbunzlauer, Nutrimuscle potassium citrate:

  • Contains two active molecules for the athlete, citrate and potassium for more efficiency.
  • Has a basifying effect to fight against acidity, thanks to the citrate

What is Nutrimuscle potassium citrate?

Potassium citrate is the combined action of citrate and potassium: two active molecules for the athlete.

Potassium citrate is an ideal form to optimise potassium assimilation. Potassium is an alkaline mineral that is useful for many body functions.

What are the benefits of potassium citrate for you?

It helps muscles to function properly

Potassium acts together with sodium in the regulation of body fluids and in the production of nerve impulses required for muscle contraction (1). Potassium also plays a role in the transport of glucose in the muscles as well as in the production of ATP (1).

Acid-base balance

During training as well as during a diet, the blood becomes acidic. Potassium citrate helps to address this problem by helping to rebalance the blood's pH.

Prevention of kidney stones

Regular potassium citrate supplements are an excellent way to reduce the formation of stones because this buffering agent dissolves the constituent molecules before they crystallise. (2)

Usage tips

Who is Nutrimuscle potassium citrate for?

Potassium citrate is for:

  • athletes seeking to rebalance their blood pH after training,
  • sedentary people who are on a diet or wish to restore their acid-base balance.

We recommend a daily intake of 10g of potassium citrate (which is 3.6g of potassium).

When should I take Nutrimuscle potassium citrate?

Throughout the day

In the morning, prepare a bottle of water with the Nutrimuscle potassium citrate for the day.

You can take it between meals and protein snacks, or during one of your meals. You can take your potassium citrate in one dose during the day. However, we recommend two intakes (one in the morning and one in the evening, for example) to promote the assimilation of potassium citrate.

During training

Put Nutrimuscle potassium citrate with (optional) dextrose or with maltodextrin + sucralose in your training bottle. Drink the solution in small sips throughout your workout.

How to take Nutrimuscle potassium citrate?

As with all supplements, it is advisable to start with a small dose of Nutrimuscle potassium citrate (1g), and progress slowly day to day if all goes well.
You can also enrich your water with potassium citrate, which you can drink in small sips throughout the day.

Interactions with other Nutrimuscle products

Synergies between supplements
Nutrimuscle potassium citrate can be combined with the following supplements without any problems:

  • Carbohydrates such as maltodextrin, dextrose, Waxy Maize or Nutri-Fiber;
  • Organic oats or organic barley flakes or powder, but the mixture may not taste very good. On the other hand, Nutrimuscle potassium citrate may be used before or after cereals, provided that the cereals are not mixed with milk or protein;
  • Sucralose This sweetener can mask the salty taste of citrate without hindering its effectiveness;
  • Creatine: can be mixed without any problem;
  • L-Arginine, because its action is also basifying.

Antagonisms between supplements
Avoid taking Nutrimuscle potassium citrate with:

Guaranteed purity of raw materials

It is rare to know the names of the suppliers of the raw materials for the supplements one consumes. However, this is essential to ensure product traceability.
We have therefore listed all our suppliers for over 27 years.
This is also the case for our pharmaceutical grade Potassium Citrate, produced in Germany by the Austrian Jungbunzlauer Group.

Benefits of Nutrimuscle potassium citrate in more detail

Potassium citrate and sports performance

Fight against potassium deficiencies

A recent study has shown that athletes who train intensely and particularly in a hot and humid environment have an even greater need for potassium (1).

Potassium citrate and muscle function

An imbalance in potassium can cause arrhythmia, muscle weakness and can also decrease the body's ability to produce nerve impulses. Hence the interest of a potassium citrate supplement for the athlete.

Potassium citrate and health
Athlete's health

Potassium citrate helps in the proper functioning of the nervous system, in the maintenance of normal blood pressure as well as in the transport of glucose to the muscles. All these benefits allow the athlete to stay in good health.

Acid-base balance

Both during training and during a diet, the blood becomes acidic. Potassium citrate helps to address this problem by rebalancing blood pH thanks to its basifying effect.

Prevention of kidney stones

Regular supplementation with potassium citrate is a great way to reduce stone formation (2), because this buffering agent dissolves the constituent molecules before they even crystallize.
