Description

Why choose Nutrimuscle's Quali®-C Vitamin C?

Quali®-C is a high-quality pharmaceutical vitamin C (or L-ascorbic acid)
produced by the European brand DSM, which is HACCP certified.
ISO9001. DSM has been manufacturing vitamins for over 75 years,
specialising in this aspect, as well as 'high-tech' proteins
such as PeptoPro®.

The DSM laboratory that makes Quali®-C is the only one in Europe to produce vitamin C.

This vitamin therefore does not come from China as is the case for 99% of the vitamin C sold on the market.

Thanks to Quali®-C from DSM, you can supplement safe in the knowledge that your vitamin C has been subject to rigorous monitoring, rather than using a product
of questionable traceability and purity, and of which you don't know the dosage or the origin. Furthermore, Quali®-C guarantees that no GMO products are included in the production of your vitamin C, and that is why Nutrimuscle has chosen it for its range.

What is Vitamin C?

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that is vital to our health. Since the body does not produce it, it has to be absorbed through food or supplementation.

What are the benefits of Vitamin C?

Immune booster

Vitamin C has antioxidant properties both inside and outside our cells. It also increases the growth of immune cells. The immune benefits of vitamin C can be seen in the impact of the common cold, for example. For five years, men and women received a daily dose of 500 mg of vitamin C, which reduced the chance of catching a cold by 20% and the chance of having more than three colds over five years by 70%.

Usage tips

Who is Nutrimuscle vitamin C for?

Nutrimuscle Quali®-C Vitamin C is for:

  • Athletes, who require more vitamin C than inactive people
  • Inactive people, for its immune action, and to protect against future colds

Dosage

1 scoop (1000 mg) or 1 capsule (867 mg) of Nutrimuscle vitamin C per day.

Contraindications: high doses of vitamin C are not recommended for people suffering from kidney stones. People with kidney problems should not consume more than 200 mg of vitamin C per day because of (among other things) the risk of hyperoxalemia. In addition, taking too much vitamin C at one time can cause diarrhoea and lead to digestive problems.

When should I take Nutrimuscle vitamin C?

For some people, vitamin C has a booster effect, much like caffeine. In this case, it is best to use it in the morning and/or before training.

In others, vitamin C leads to mild drowsiness. In this case, it is best to avoid taking it during the day and to take it in the evening instead. Even if your ability to fall asleep is not affected by vitamin C, you should also take into account its potential diuretic effect, which may also disrupt sleep if you need to get up to go to the toilet during the night.

How do I take Nutrimuscle Vitamin C?

It's generally best to take your Nutrimuscle Quali®-C vitamin C in spread-out doses, without the protocol becoming too tedious and burdensome to follow, which inevitably leads to your forgetting to take it.
Nutrimuscle Quali®-C vitamin C can be taken with meals. Also, remember that before a workout, with protein or BCAAs, Nutrimuscle's Quali®-C Vitamin C can provide you with more energy and strength, all while allowing you to burn more fat.

Interactions with other Nutrimuscle products

Synergies between supplements

ForIn high-level female athletes, a daily intake of 250 mg of vitamin C + 400 IU of vitamin E reduces muscle damage resulting from excessive training (2). Vitamin C thus promotes recovery. In combination with zinc (10 mg), a 5-day course of vitamin C (1 g) can reduce the duration of a cold by 9 to 27% (3).
Vitamin C also promotes the assimilation of carnitine (4). On the contrary, a lack of vitamin C results in difficulties with fat elimination, due to the ensuing poor metabolism of carnitine (4). When vitamin C levels drop, the transfer of carnitine from the blood to the muscles (where it has its anti-fat action) is lowered.

Adverse reactions between supplements

Due to the acidic pH, it's better to space out your intake of vitamin C and potassium bicarbonate by at least 30 minutes.

Guaranteed purity of raw materials

Quali®-C is a pharmaceutical-grade vitamin C (or L-ascorbic acid) produced by the European brand DSM, which is HACCP and ISO9001 certified. DSM has been manufacturing vitamins for over 75 years, and one of its specialities is 'high-tech' proteins such as PeptoPro®.

The DSM laboratory that makes Quali®-C is the only one in Europe to produce vitamin C. DSM Quali®-C, offers you a rigorously monitored vitamin C supplement rather than a product of unknown origin, uncertain traceability, questionable purity, and unreliable dosages. Furthermore, Quali®-C guarantees that no GMO products are used in the production of your vitamin C.

Benefits of Vitamin C in more detail

Vitamin C molecules are altered by heat, light, oxygen. It is therefore preferable not to heat it or transfer it to a transparent pot. If you do not use your Quali®-C Nutrimuscle vitamin C on a regular basis and you want to keep it for later use, refrigeration can prolong its effectiveness.

An immune booster
Vitamin C exerts antioxidant properties both inside and outside our cells. It also increases the proliferation of immune cells. On the contrary, a diet poor in vitamin C for 32 days lowers the effectiveness of certain immune defenses by 69%. The immune weakening induced by a lack of vitamin C proves to be very durable: after 28 days of daily re-supplementation of 245 mg, the immune response is still 52% lower than that at the start.

The immune benefits of vitamin C are concretely reflected in the incidence of colds, for example. For 5 years, men and women received either 50 mg or 500 mg of vitamin C daily (1). Compared to 50 mg, supplementation with 500 mg reduces the chances of catching a cold by 20% and the chances of having more than three colds over 5 years by 70%.

How much Vitamin C?

While some scientists recommend mega doses of vitamin C, others advocate moderation. Thus, we will only present the arguments of each one here.

In patients with advanced cancer, whose conventional pharmaceutical treatments have been held to failure, the intake of mega doses (1 g per minute) of vitamin C infusion over 4 weeks was very well tolerated (1-2) . Indeed, only very high doses are capable of producing destructive effects on cancer cells. Under these conditions, the life of some cancer patients can be prolonged with vitamin C (3).

Research into doses twice as high as those mentioned is being carried out. However, these are amounts that are impossible to achieve by oral intake, but which underline the safety of vitamin C at the doses usually recommended. On the contrary, some studies show that higher doses of vitamin C increase oxidative damage such as that induced by muscle strain (4).
