A new study (1), very detailed, particularly at the genomic level, reveals the secrets of the effectiveness of carnitine against fat.

By regulating the activity of the genes that make us burn fat, carnitine provides more energy during exercise, which increases endurance and increases the effectiveness of the diet.

Mitochondria turn our fat into energy

Mitochondria are organelles that convert our fat into energy. However, mitochondria are completely impermeable to lipids. For them to enter the mitochondria, they need a carrier: carnitine.

Carnitine allows fat molecules to cross the protective membranes of mitochondria . On the contrary, without carnitine, it becomes almost impossible to burn fat: we are constantly tired and we accumulate fat since we are not able to oxidize fat to transform it into energy.

Carnitine intake protocol

Taking 2 g of L-Carnipure® with 80 g of carbohydrates in the morning, then another 2 g of L-Carnipure® + 80 g of carbohydrates around 4 p.m. by athletes increases the concentration of muscle carnitine by 21% after 12 weeks of supplementation.

In the control group, which took only 80 g of carbohydrates twice a day, the level of muscle carnitine did not increase. On the other hand, due to the increase in calorie intake from sugars, these athletes have accumulated 1 kg of fat around the waist, plus 800 g of fat on the thighs. This fat gain of 1.8 kg was completely prevented by L-Carnipure®, which testifies to an increase in metabolism thanks to carnitine .

Thus, during physical exertion, L-Carnipure® burns 10% more fat and 6% more calories than the placebo.

How does L-Carnipure® modulate our genes to burn more fat?
