What is guarana?

Guarana is a seed from an Amazonian plant called Paullinia Cupana and naturally contains between 2% and 7.5% caffeine, which is 2 to 3 times more than coffee beans (2). While guarana is rich in caffeine, the other molecules it contains (tannins, catechins etc.) are all equally important.

What are the benefits of organic guarana?

Improved energy and reduced fatigue

Guarana's high caffeine content provides an almost immediate energy boost. Guarana also contains tannins to which the caffeine clings, which prolongs the release of caffeine in the body, thus increasing the duration of the energy boost.

Increased cardiovascular protection

The work of the heart is facilitated by the vasodilating polyphenols contained in guarana, which counteract the harmful effects of caffeine (3).

Positive effects on the brain

Nutrimuscle organic Guayapi guarana

The caffeine in Nutrimuscle's Organic Guarana is natural caffeine, not chemical caffeine. While the end effect on strength and endurance is the same, there are noticeable molecular differences between natural caffeine and chemical caffeine, and it is always best to favor natural caffeine (4).

It is for this reason that Nutrimuscle has selected a wild guarana, cultivated in an ancestral and artisanal way, which contains only 4% caffeine. It is therefore not genetically manipulated in order to boost caffeine levels.

Who is Nutrimuscle Organic Guarana for?

Nutrimuscle organic guarana is for:

  • Athletes who wish to improve their endurance levels before a training session
  • Inactive people, in order to improve their daily life and health.

Dosage

4 capsules during the day with a little room-temperature mineral water, either with meals or before exercise.

When should I consume organic guarana?

Nutrimuscle organic guarana is best taken with your morning and midday meals with a little room-temperature mineral water, or two hours before exercise.
Avoid taking Nutrimuscle Organic guarana too late at night, as it can prevent you from falling asleep.

How do I take organic guarana?

It is best to start slowly, beginning with 2 to 3 capsules to see how your body reacts. If all goes well, increase the dose the following day; add one capsule until you reach the recommended 4 capsules. There's no need to try to reach very high doses. Just use a moderate dose that you feel is reasonably effective.

Increased strength and endurance
To increase your strength and endurance before training, take 4 to 6 capsules of Nutrimuscle organic guarana on an empty stomach at least 2 hours before exercise and at least 15 minutes before a pre-training snack.

Interactions with other Nutrimuscle products

Synergies between supplements
Nutrimuscle organic guarana reinforces the stimulating and anti-fat effects of the Natural Bio Burner and organic Yerba Mate.
Organic Svetol strengthens the content of chlorogenic acid and thus enhances the stimulating, but not nerve-inducing effects of Nutrimuscle's organic guarana. Contrary to popular belief, Nutrimuscle organic guarana will not prevent creatine (Creapure®) from working. On the contrary, their effects reinforce each other by increasing muscle performance and lean mass gain.

Adverse reactions between supplements
Organic guarana is not to be taken at the same time as ZMB Pidolates so as not to diminish its relaxing effect.

Purity of raw materials guaranteed

It's rare for consumers to have access to the names of the suppliers of the raw materials that go into the supplements they consume. However, this is essential to ensure product traceability. At Nutrimuscle, we use only the very best guarana, the quality of which guaranteed.

Guayapi guarana is cultivated in its native Amazonian lands. It is dried according to ancestral traditions, and roasting is forbidden. Guayapi focuses on wild plants, gathered by local tribes, always respecting traditions. Organic agriculture therefore preserves the environment.

Guayapi respects the quality charters of many organic and fair trade certification bodies. This is a far cry from industrial cultivation, chemical extraction, and GMOs (genetically modified organisms).

Guarana selected with the greatest care

What makes the difference between the various forms of guarana is not the caffeine content, it is the polyphenols (catechins, epicatechins) and tannins. With fast and inexpensive means of extraction, we destroy a large part of these active ingredients (8): if you use a cheap guarana, it is often only an expensive form of caffeine. You might as well buy caffeine, which will probably be more natural, because it is less chemically treated.

There are several ways to cultivate and extract guarana (9):

  • A traditional technique, long and laborious therefore more expensive, but which respects the integrity of the active principles of the plant;
  • An industrial technique, much faster and less expensive, but which does not respect the active principles other than caffeine.

Heating the guarana powder a lot in order to dry it after its extraction in a liquid medium will damage its other active ingredients. The more we heat, the more time we save and the more we save, but the more we destroy the value of guarana (10).

The secret to obtaining guarana extracts rich in polyphenols lies essentially in the drying method: by avoiding high temperatures or roasting, all the active molecules are better preserved.

Benefits of organic guarana in more detail

Guarana supports physical and mental vitality. A study carried out on an Amazonian population who has easy access to quality guarana has demonstrated the long-term beneficial influence of regular use of guarana:

  • Fewer health problems such as obesity or hypertension;
  • A smaller waist size despite a similar caloric intake;
  • Reinforced cardiovascular protection, which is not explained by the presence of caffeine, but by that of other active ingredients (2). Guarana, thanks to its vasodilating polyphenols, counteracts the damaging effects of caffeine (3). The work of the heart is facilitated; this on condition that the guarana is rich in polyphenols and does not contain only caffeine;
  • Positive effects on the brain: Other research has shown positive effects of guarana against brain fatigue (4-5). These benefits could not be replicated with caffeine. This shows that they cannot be explained by the presence of caffeine. In this, guarana is more effective than caffeine alone. In addition, thanks to the antioxidant properties of polyphenols, guarana protects the nervous system and the brain from degeneration (6).
